Nick Gerrish Scholarship

Soo Co-op Credit Union Is Here to Help You Reach Your Academic Goals

Soo Co-op Credit Union is proud to support students pursuing higher education through the Nick Gerrish Scholarship Program. Education opens the door to opportunity, and we are honored to help students invest in their future.

Scholarship Awards

  • Three (3) scholarships of $2,500 each

  • One (1) Bay Mills Community College student scholarship of $1,500

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a member in good standing of Soo Co-op Credit Union

    • Applicants must be a primary member or dependent for at least two (2) years

  • Be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or trade school

  • Provide proof of enrollment showing 12 or more credits

  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75

  • Attend college, university, or trade school during the school year listed on the application

  • Submit an essay (maximum 300 words) on the topic:
    “My Goals, My Dreams, and How I Plan to Achieve Them.”

  • Previous Nick Gerrish Scholarship recipients may reapply

Application Information

Award Distribution

  • Scholarship funds are paid directly to the college, university, or trade school and credited in the recipient’s name

  • One-half of the scholarship is distributed per semester

Cancellation Policy

Failure to maintain enrollment status (including withdrawal, termination, or transfer to another institution) will result in cancellation of the scholarship. Any remaining funds will be returned to Soo Co-op Credit Union and may be redistributed to an alternate applicant.
