Soo Co-op Credit Union has been notified that members are receiving phone calls saying that their SCCU Debit Card is at risk. The calls are from an automated phone system that is asking members to enter their full account number and pin number. This is a Phishing Scam! If you have given your card number, please call 888.632.3503 to have your Debit Card blocked right away.
Please remember that SCCU will never send you an e-mail, text message, or phone call asking you to enter account numbers, usernames, passwords, pin number, or Social Security Number.
On April 7, 2014 a security vulnerability named the Heartbleed Bug was identified in Open SSL, software widely used to provide communicaton security on the Internet, including email and virtual private networks (VPN). The Heartbleed Bug could allow anyone on the Internet to read the memory of the systems protected by vulnerable versions of the Open SSL software. Attackers could eavesdrop on communications, steal data, amd impersonate services and users.
In response to the discovery of the Heartbleed Bug, Soo Co-op Credit Union reviewed its systems and determined there is no vulnerability in any of the following systems used by our members:
