Soo Co-op Credit Union Donation Request 

In alignment with the credit union philosophy of "people helping people," Soo Co-op Credit Union is committed to supporting charitable organizations within the communities where our members live and work. We frequently receive requests for donations, volunteer support, and community sponsorships. The following guidelines outline how these requests are managed, ensuring that our charitable efforts benefit the majority of our membership. While these guidelines are comprehensive, exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Contributions and Donations

Soo Co-op Credit Union provides support to non-profit organizations that focus on the health, education, and welfare of our members and potential members within our communities.

Community Sponsorships

We consider sponsorship for civic, recreational, or charitable events, and programs within our member service area. To qualify for sponsorship, the requesting organization must provide guaranteed advertising or public recognition.

Contribution Guidelines

• All sponsorship requests must be submitted to the Marketing Department at least 30 days prior to the event.
• Contributions and sponsorships are limited to non-profit organizations (organizations may be required to provide a government-issued non-tax identification number or 501(c)(3) status).
• Priority is given to organizations that directly serve the health, education, and welfare needs of our members and potential members.
• You will receive a notification once your request has been reviewed and approved. All decisions are final. Due to the high volume of requests we receive, funding cannot be guaranteed for every request.
• Requests from SCCU members are given priority over those from non-members.

Requests Not Considered

• Organizations or causes that do not directly impact the SCCU service area.
• Religious or political affiliations, personal or individual requests, student trips, exchange programs, or athletic scholarships.
• Solicitation of contributions on Soo Co-op Credit Union property is not permitted.
• Organizations unable to provide financial documentation regarding their services, donations, or resource usage (new organizations with limited documentation may be asked to provide suitable references).
