Don’t Tax My Credit Union
Right now, there’s talk in Washington about changing the tax status of credit unions like Soo Co-op Credit Union.
As a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative, we don’t pay federal corporate income tax — and that allows us to return more value to you:
- Lower loan rates
- Higher savings returns
- Fewer fees
But some big bank lobbyists and lawmakers want to change that. They’re pushing to tax credit unions like Wall Street banks — and that could mean fewer benefits for you and over 137 million credit union members nationwide.
We need your help.
Please take a moment to contact your lawmakers and tell them:
Don’t Tax My Credit Union.
It’s fast, easy, and it makes a real difference.
This is about fairness. You chose a credit union that puts people over profits — you shouldn’t be penalized for that.
Thank you for being a part of the Soo Co-op Credit Union family and for standing up to protect what makes credit unions unique.
